Residency Far Away So Close

Residency Far Away So Close (RFASC) is mobile residency program for international professional curators in south Sweden. Each selected curator gets the opportunity to produce an exhibition in collaboration with an art institution in the region. The residency programme is supporting the curator and arrange meetings/visits with artists, galleries and institutions during a two month residency period.

The aim is to create exchange between the Swedish and the international art scene were the curator works. The curators will generate new opportunities for local artists and Swedish artists to exhibit internationally and will give the art scene in south Sweden a broader selection of exhibitions.

RFASC will through hands-on production of exhibitions support curators and investigate how institutions and indepandent curators can collaborate. The programme wants to enlighten and investigate the complex work structure of the curator, as an initiator, producer and network generator.
